It observes that an increasing number of artworks are now inspired by or produced with advanced technologies mainly influenced by generative AI, deeply infused at the very heart of the artworks. Such development interrogates the notion of Art, including the artist and the definition of artistic approach. It also questions how artworks are discovered, exchanged, collected, and preserved. The advent of increasingly advanced digital technologies provokes profound philosophical and ethical inquiries. These ongoing transformations across artistic, cultural, economic, political, and professional realms seem to be long-lasting, with implications that have started to resonate within society.

Similar to human curiosity, the evolution of emergent technologies never stops, making us to rethink new forms of Art based on:

bio art: this field involves using biotechnology and living organisms, such as cells, bacteria, or plants, in artistic practice. Often exploring the ethical, social, and aesthetic implications of biotechnology.

Data visualisation : ecological concerns: in which art forms often use sustainable materials and technology to raise awareness about environmental issues.

Generative art/Generative writing: methods and protocols in collaboration with artificial intelligence to develop collective intelligence by stimulating common writing.

Quantum arts : robotics art, either in the creation process (robots creating art) or as a substantial part of the artwork (interactive robotic installations).

…

The goal of the second 3AI Symposium is twofold. First, to contribute to the discussion of various interrogations about “What makes Art today?” Second, to reflect on the new context and environment of artistic production.

Artists, artistic instruments (intelligent, extended, mixed, augmented & virtual ones), designers, producers, critics, collectors, spectators, researchers, and policymakers are all invited to be part of the presentations (conference, exhibition, podcasts, video, installation, …) and discussions (round tables, social networks).

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”http://pepinieres.eu/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Art-in-the-age-of-articifical-intellignence-Corfou-2024-Paris8-Citu_Paragraphe-Banner_Yellow-Pepinieres_Europeenes_de_Creation-Transcultures-2024.jpg” title_text=”Art-in-the-age-of-articifical-intellignence-Corfou-2024-Paris8-Citu_Paragraphe-Banner_Yellow-Pepinieres_Europeenes_de_Creation-Transcultures-2024″ _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text module_class=”post-txt titleBloc” _builder_version=”4.24.0″ border_style=”solid” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Talks Program

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_accordion _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Sunday, May 26, 2024 ” open=”on” _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]

09:00 – 09:30 Opening of the conference (Salle 1) – Session chair Khaldoun Zreik

09:30 – 11:30 Session 1 (Salle 1) – Michail Panagopoulos

10:50 – 11:15 Roundtable session 1 (Salle 1)

11:15 – 11:30 Coffee break (Salle 1)

11:30 – 13:15 Session 2 (Salle 1) – Elen Riot

12:50 – 13:15 Roundtable session 2 (Salle 1)

13:15 – 14:30 Lunch (Salle 1)

14:30 – 16:30 Session 3 (Salle 1) – Modestos Stavrakis

15:50 – 16:15 Roundtable session 3 (Salle 1)

16:15 – 16:30 Coffee break (Salle 1)

16:30 – 18:00 Session Art Work 1 (Salle 1) – Philippe Franck

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Lundi 27 mai 2024″ _builder_version=”4.24.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” open=”off”]

10:00 – 12:00 Session 4 (Salle 1) – Everardo Reyes

11:30 – 12:00 Roundtable session 4 (Salle 1)

12:00 – 14:00 Lunch (Salle 1)

14:00 – 16:00 Session 5 (Salle 1) – Marc Veyrat

14:00 – 14:15 › The Creative Synthesis: AI’s Contribution to Narrative 3D Animation – Hyunsun Park, Université Paris 8 Vincennes Saint Denis – Arts et Technologies de L’image

14:15 – 14:30 › HumanNon Human Trials on Transmedia Character Design using Motion Capture – Panagiotis Kyriakoulakos, University of the Aegean – Anthoula Kolokotroni, University of the Aegean – Georgios Nikopoulos, Ionian University

14:30 – 15:00 › Meta spaces and multilistening of digital electro audio creations – Philippe Franck, Laboratoire Paragraphe

15:00 – 15:15 › Prompt matters: artistic and design explorations – Everardo Reyes, Université Paris 8

15:15 – 15:30 › Pixel Prodigy: Exploring the Role of AI Tools in the Art of Game Design and Development – Anastasios Theodoropoulos, University of the Peloponnese, Department of Performing and Digital Arts – Panagiotis Papadopoulos, HCIVR Lab, – Christos Vrellis

15:30 – 16:00 Roundtable session 5 (Salle 1)

16:00 – 16:30 Break

16:30 – 18:00 Session Art Work 2 (Salle 1)

16:30 – 16:45 › melodia atomizacji – asemic dissolution ritual – Arthur Kuhn, Laboratoire Paragraphe

16:45 – 17:00 › Monolove The Centaur Experience. The idea of this project, the story, the film script and the aesthetic concept were inspired and developed by Giorgos Nikopoulos during 2017 – 2018. The story was first written as a short film script and then it was developed by an expanded team as a game script through which it got funded by the Greek Ministry of Culture and Athletics in 2020 as a project on development in the Digital Culture Funding Program. This stage of the project was driven by the non-profit corporation “six impossible wishes”. In parallel the idea of Monolove was partly developed as an interactive multimedia performance in a form which could be described as a “live animation performance”.

Parts of this project are taking place as case studies in the research program “IMAGINE MOCAP” funded by ELIDEK, in which are participating three Greek Universities: the Aegean, the Ionian and the University of Peloponese.

The main theme of this transmedia on-development project is Love and more specifically the egocentric nature of Love. The project proposes three different sex types: male, female and fluid. These three types are not proposed as an attempt to persuade the audience for the “third” sex but as a statement of the freedom that an individual can approach through love.

The audience comes in contact with the story and the characters of Monolove as well as with a variety of transformations of the characters. Participants give their own proposals of their non-human transmedia digital characters using AI. Imagination, creativity and freedom are three components necessary for the conduct of the workshop. For this reason, we expect digital characters in various versions, in terms of morphology, material, personality and kinesiology.

Giorgos Nikopoulos (Gr)

Giorgos Nikopoulos was born in Katerini (Northern Greece). I then sculpted these libraries into an immersive generative sound piece using machine-learning output from the audio recording library modulated by wearable data to communicate the affective charge of my experience.

In this context, I rely on sound as a performative-atmospheric medium, as well as heavily manipulated video documentation of the protests to create a complex milieu of “affect contagion” where affect is not defined as fixed paradigms of emotions but recognized as a complex socio-cultural phenomenon open to be experienced and interpreted differentially”.
