Alain Wergifosse, sound, visual and intermedia artist\u00a0 is, hosted at Transcultures in its new spaces at the Hautrage convent (Saint-Ghislain), for a long residence in 2024.<\/p>\n

He has initially worked on MATERIA<\/em>, a sound and visual installation project around a journey of poetic and imaginary exploration inside matter in all its states and transmutations, navigating liquid phases, flying over gaseous states, penetrating solids, sometimes blinded by brightly colored plasmas, deafened by tectonic vibrations.<\/p>\n

MATERIA<\/em> will be presented, as a world premiere, at the Vid\u00e9oformes festival in a chapel in Clermont Ferrand (Fr), from March 14 to 30, 2024.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

MATERIA<\/em> will take the form of a great immersive multichannel video installation. Alain Wergifosse describes it as \u201can allegorical work on matter in all its states in which real macro and microscopic images combine with computer-generated images to illustrate with a free and poetic look various vibrational phenomena, entropy and dynamisms. intimate with nature and the constantly transforming physical and chemical elements that compose it.<\/p>\n

This process occurs through a series of interactions between light, sound and matter in time and space for a free interpretation of string theory, antimatter and thermodynamics; it\u2019s a miniature journey into the interior of things.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u200bInsatiable explorer of sound, image and the media since the 1980s, Alain Wergifosse amplifies all kinds of resonant objects and specializes in the electronic processing of feedback to achieve his organic compositions and improvisations. He has traveled the world solo and with various groups and collective projects (Obmuz, Macromassa, SpecOp, Colectivo Anatomic among others).<\/p>\n

From his base in Barcelona, he composed, during ten years, the music and sound interactions of the shows Marcel l\u00ed Ant\u00fanez (ex La Fura dels Baus) and he collaborated with many artists of the experimental musical scene ( Zbigniew Karkowski, Cluster, Jaki Liebezeit, Francisco Lopez, Nad Spiro, Eli Gras,\u2026) and actively participated in various adventurous initiatives in Spain and internationally.<\/p>\n

In recent years, returning to Belgium, he has developed his visual work and produced immersive and interactive installations, self-generative videos, microscopies and other materialist compositions presented in several festivals and international events (City Sonic, MEM, Kikk, Semaine du son, Simultan, Transnumeriques, Pl\u00e9iades, Zone Libre\u2026).<\/p>\n
