Tree stories <\/i>\u00a0is a interdisciplinary and multifaceted in progress project inspired by the timeless poetry and mystical power of raw nature embodied by the tree in a time where Man is continuing to destroy the natural environment as well as himself in a blind infernal suicidal race. The tree in general is a strong symbol (of the cosmos, of life, of force…), and each tree in particular is a more specific symbol (the oak symbolizes majesty, the alder humility, etc) which can vary depending on the cultures and mythologies.<\/p>\n

How can we relate to them and learn from them? How can we better understand them and benefit from their silent universal stories? These are a few questions that irrigate this ongoing creative process.<\/p>\n

This performance is experiencing the personification of trees, through the movement of the performers and sound, talking about the embodiment of different times and signs in nature and the constantly changing, adapting, the life-giving world of trees.<\/p>\n

The Tree Stories performance features pluridisciplinary – movements, poetry, sounds (and images too for a future installation\/video project)\u00a0 –\u00a0 material created by the 3 associated artists\u00a0 Kotryna \u017dilinskait\u0117 (LT), Hasan Alp Celikel (TK), Paradise Now (BE\/FR) at the “Verpej\u0173” residence<\/a> (totally disconnected from urban parasites in the forest of South Lithuania) in August 2022.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>After starting her artistic career in the performing arts from childhood at the age of eight, she grew up in children’s and teenagers’ theater, later she obtained a bachelor’s degree in theater at the Lithuanian Academy of theater and music.<\/p>\n

Since then, Kotryna has organized festivals, concerts, made videos and plays, created and participated in interdisciplinary or choreographic performances and happenings (often marked by But\u00f4) with numerous collaborations, and led various creative workshops.<\/p>\n

Kotryna created, in Vilnius, the cultural space \u201cU\u017eiateka\u201d, founded the art therapy space \u201cOasis of the Arts\u201d. She studied music therapy at Vilnius University. She is also the coordinator of City Sonic Vilnius (platform for sound arts) in connection with Transcultures (Centre for digital and sound cultures -Belgium) and its international festival of sound arts City Sonic.<\/p>\n

Hasan Alp \u00c7elikel (Tk)<\/strong><\/h6>\n

\"\"D’origine turque et bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Vilnius depuis quelques ann\u00e9es, Hasan Alp \u00c7elikel est un cr\u00e9ateur interdisciplinaire qui travaille dans les arts visuels, performatifs, le design et la musique improvis\u00e9e. Hasan\u00a0 a commenc\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re en tant que guitariste solo progressif, dans divers groupes canadiens, lorsqu’il suivait des \u00e9tudes d\u2019art visuel au Nova Scotia College of Arts and Design University.<\/p>\n

Plus tard, il obtient un baccalaur\u00e9at en arts et \u00e9tudie la c\u00e9ramique \u00e0 la facult\u00e9. Il explore ensuite la sculpture sonore cr\u00e9\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019aide de Cymatics et, depuis 2016, la conception d\u2019instruments \u00e0 percussion m\u00e9lodique. Aujourd\u2019hui install\u00e9 \u00e0 Vilnius, Hasan cr\u00e9e des peintures, pratique le But\u014d et la danse contemporaine, \u00e9crit des chansons en anglais, turc ou en langue invit\u00e9e et de la musique exp\u00e9rimentale instrumentale.<\/p>\n

Sa d\u00e9marche spontan\u00e9e vise \u00e0 \u00e9clairer l\u2019alchimie et \u00e0 capturer l’instant magique \u00e0 travers ses peintures, sculptures, performances et happenings sonores.<\/p>\n
