This Sound Camp is also about promoting collaboration between artists of different practices and aesthetics, always starting from their energy, their desire, and their creativity.<\/p>\n<p>The events will take place in Kompresorin\u0117 Cultural Center, open for interdisciplinary projects. The venue holds an ambisonic sound system which can also be used in the City Sonic Sound Camp. The technical crew will be ready to support the participants.<\/p>\n<p>City Sonic Vilnius team is going to support most of the traveling, accommodation, meals, materials and equipment costs.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Philosophy<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>LESS IS MORE \u2013 low tech rather than high tech \u2013 not a technical workshop but more of a participative creative masterclass<\/li>\n<li>We will be content oriented \u2013 how can we create and tell a sonic or audio-visual \u201cstory\u201d (even abstract) together about different visions of this Vilnius district.<\/li>\n<li>The 3 coordinators will accompagny the participants both critically and tehnically, they can also participate artistically (both with sounds and images)<\/li>\n<li>The lituanian artistist, Kotryna \u017dilinskait\u0117 (Creative director of U\u017eiateka) will film the process<\/li>\n<li>Hasan Alp Celikel (Art director of U\u017eiateka) and the audio engineer Roberto Beccera can help for the technique<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><strong>Sound Camp workshop<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>The participants will first work on the sound recording (field recording) in the city of Vilnius, which can evolve into situations invented and constructed on the spot.<\/li>\n<li>Each place can be documented in its sonic characteristics or become a basis for the elaboration of a form of a poetic story or a small fiction inspired by the area and its inhabitants.<\/li>\n<li>The audio recordings will be the material that can be processed or reinvented in the studio.<\/li>\n<li>What we are interested in here is to be able to put a form of presence and attention to the urban environment as well as its metamorphosis into resonance and listening, and also to reveal, with the help of sound (or possibly the image of sound) certain particular places in the city of Vilnius but also strange and poetic situations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Workshop coordinators \/ Exhibition curators<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Philippe Franck (Fr\/Be), Tommy Lawson (Tg\/Fr), Christian Vialard (Fr)<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Sound Camp &#8211; Exposition<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>At the end of 5 days of workshops and joint intensive experiences, an exhibition is planned with a sound (listening to the finalized creative works) and with a visual (a photographic, video, graphic, or multimedia look at the process and the images of this sound experience) component, as well as with sound performances (notably by the 3 guest creators-coordinators-curators, and also by Lithuanian artists).<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in the coming weeks after this first City Sonic Vilnius Sound Camp, it is planned to publish the issues and final creations of the participants in audio, on the web, and in the form of printed materials.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;http:\/\/pepinieres.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Vilnius_old_town_by_Augustas_Didzgalvis-Ideas_Block-Uziateka-Pepinieres_Europeenes_de_Creation-Transcultures-2023.jpg&#8221; title_text=&#8221;Vilnius_old_town_by_Augustas_Didzgalvis-Ideas_Block-Uziateka-Pepinieres_Europeenes_de_Creation-Transcultures-2023&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_accordion module_class=&#8221;eventBloc&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Philippe Franck (aka Paradise Now &#8211; Fr)&#8221; open=&#8221;on&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Intermedia producer and creator based in Belgium, Philippe Franck has developed since the 90s the Paradise Now project which favors an actively transversal and collaborative approach. He favors a sensitive and cinematic approach that embraces different influences and fields (electronics, sound art, post-rock, post-pop, improvised music &#8230;).<\/p>\n<p>He has worked closely with various videographers (R\u00e9gis Cotentin, Hanzel &amp; Gretzel), poets (Ira Cohen, Gerard Malanga, Catrine Godin, Biba Sheikh, Werner Moron in Les ours bipolaires, Eric Therer for the project &amp; Stuff), choreographers (Nadine Ganase , Manon Oligny, Karine Ledoyen), digital artists (Philippe Boisnard, Franck Soudan, Jacques Urbanska, Thomas Isra\u00ebl) and other adventurous audio creators (recently Christophe Bailleau within the duo Pastoral, Gauthier Keyaerts in Supernova, Stephan Dunkelman, Maurice Charles JJ, A Limb).<\/p>\n<p>Since 2005, he has also collaborated with holistic performer \/ masseuse Isa Belle for a series of installations and &#8220;sound&#8221; performances shown in numerous festivals, cultural centers and international events. He has also produced and participated in several records on various independent labels (Sub Rosa, Optical Sound, Transonic\u2026). He develops projects combining electronic and electroacoustic music. Deeply attached to the idea of transversality between the arts, he produces numerous music\/sound pieces and soundtracks interacting with visual\/video arts and contemporary dance. He develops in collaboration with Armand Lesecq tools for digital audio creations and computer lutherie in the field of sound spatialization. He regularly carries out geolocated sound walks towards the public in order to allow them to live an augmented sound experience in connection with the intangible heritage of a territory. He is at the initiative of the first video mapping carried out in Corsica with the Tunisian collective Design Lab on the occasion of the reopening of the Bastia museum in 2009 of a series of video mapping as part of the European Heritage Days.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, he created Zone Libre, a\u00a0 structure dedicated to creation, production and distribution through which he has organized the eponymous Festival of Sound Arts since 2019, between art, science and new technologies. His music speaks of the complexity of our contemporary world, of its multiple forms, its inconsistencies, its violence, but also about the richness of the people who live there. He uses analogue instruments and samplers specific to electronic music and electric guitars closer to post-punk and noise music.<\/p>\n<p>He works with artists from different worlds, depending on the projects and encounters, for instance, with the writer Eric Arlix and the guitarist Serge Teyssot-Gay (ex Noir D\u00e9sir) for the sonopoetic project Hypog\u00e9. His productions include sound installations, videos, paintings and sculptures which are shown in exhibitions and at international festivals.<\/p>\n<p>He founded the experimental label Tiramizu in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Christian Vialard is in charge of teaching digital practices at the National School of Art in Nice, Villa Arson<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/christianvialard.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">christianvialard.com<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/569818557&amp;color=%238ca0a0&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=true&amp;show_comments=false&amp;show_user=false&amp;show_reposts=false&amp;show_teaser=false\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;City Sonic Vilnius&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>City Sonic Vilnius has been recently launched in partnership with <a href=\"http:\/\/citysonic.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">City Sonic \u2013 international sound art festival<\/a> initiated by <a href=\"http:\/\/transcultures.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Transcultures<\/a> (Centre of digital and sound cultures in the Federation Wallonie-Brussels Belgium and also coordinator of the European Pepinieres of Creation international network for the mobility of contemporary artists-projects based in Paris) directed by curator\/creator\/producer Philippe Franck in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>During 2 weeks, City Sonic offers a sound itinerary in the hosting city with installations, performances and workshops, opening all creative doors (from digital\/media arts\/devices to invented instruments, from audio-visual to multimedia performances\/installations, from the electronic\/contemporary music to experimental \/improvised music, from sound poetry to radio art\u2026), of sound art today.<\/p>\n<p>Mixing an internationalist vision with the will to develop the local scene and support new\/young talents as well as more renown but still singular artists, City Sonic approach focus on site specific works and build relationships between territories, locations, practices, communities, creativities and researches<\/p>\n<p>With a similar approach, City Sonic Vilnius (coordinated by U\u017eiateka and Transcultures Europe) aims to develop in Lithuania and its capital various activities linked to the diversity of sound arts with an interdisciplinary, participative, inclusive and federating vision.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citysonic.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">citysonic.be<\/a><br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/citysonic.lt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">citysonic.lt<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;U\u017eiateka &#8211; KOMPRESORIN\u0116&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.17.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h6><strong>U\u017eiateka<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>U\u017eiateka is both cultural organisation and a media channel collaborating with various creative artists and organisations. We organize and lead the events like performances, concerts, creative workshops, art therapies, interdisceplinary art projects. U\u017eiateka was established in 2019 in Repulic of U\u017eupis, by Vilnel\u0117 river. Since 2023 U\u017eiateka flowed symbolically by Vilnel\u0117 to Neris, the main river of Vilnius and situaed by its coast.<\/p>\n<p>U\u017eiateka streams it&#8217;s own online tv channel &#8220;U\u017eiateka TV&#8221; with different forms of cultural expression involving videos: cultural events, educational sessions and meetings with artists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kotryna \u017dilinskait\u0117 (Creative director)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kotryna \u017dilinskait\u0117 is an interdisciplinary artist who combines theatre, contemporary and butoh dance, and sound performances. Kotryna organizes festivals, and concerts, directs films and plays, creates and participates in artistic projects, performances, and happenings, and leads various creative workshops.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hasan Alp Celikel (Art director)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hasan Alp Celikel is an interdisciplinary artist who works in visual, performative arts, design, and music. Hasan&#8217;s journey in art started at an early age and has endured until now. The artist aims to illuminate the alchemy through a magical mind through the surreal expressions appearing in his work.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uziateka.live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">uziateka.live<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h6><strong>KOMPRESORIN\u0116<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Independent cultural space, located in Vilnius, the characteristics of the space \u2013 a former compressor room of the old Physics institute, are a sample of the space\u2019s past and its new life.
