Sea K is an adventurous performance, a free-from sound composition adapted from Jack Kerouac’s “Sea” poem (addendum to \u201cBig Sur\u201d, a novel written in 10 days, in the fall of 1960 visiting friends on the shores of the Pacific Ocean), played by actress Kristina \u0160ve\u010dionyt\u0117 and performer Kotryna \u017dilinskait\u0117 together with sound artist Paradise Now.<\/p>\n

The “Sea K” performance gathers cultural references,poetic allusions and sea stories. The poem (a stream of consciousness in an experimental form improvised by Kerouac haunted by the seeming emptiness of the sea) layers sound and senses together, imitating the sea’s noises while registering its meanings that will take us to be in and of the sea – tossed by the waves, washed up on the shore, drowned, and floating.<\/p>\n

Like its main poetic source of a timeless modernity, Sea K is an invitation to a rejuvenating drift between hallucination and light, human fragility and nature strength (sometimes a thread, sometimes a cure…), refusing to close any meanings or interpretations, opening to a variety of stimulations.<\/p>\n

Kotrina \u017dilinskaite<\/strong><\/p>\n

Interdisciplinary artist who combines theatre, contemporary and butoh dance, and sound performances. Kotryna organizes festivals, and concerts, directs films and plays, creates and participates in artistic projects, performances, and happenings, and leads various creative workshops.<\/p>\n

She is studying for a Master’s degree in Music Therapy at Vilnius University and working with the cultural organizations “U\u017eiateka” and “Oasis – art therapy”.<\/p>\n

Kristina \u0160ven\u010dionyt\u0117<\/strong><\/p>\n

Actress, creator, and performer, who has created over 30 roles in Lithuanian and foreign theater and cinema, as well as various performances.<\/p>\n

He is currently studying in the contemporary sculpture master’s program of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, delving into performance art, audiovisual creation, combining text, its acoustic expression, and sculpture.<\/p>\n

Paradise Now<\/strong><\/p>\n

Intermedia producer and creator based in Belgium, Philippe Franck has developed since the 90s the Paradise Now project which favours an actively transversal and collaborative approach. He chooses a sensitive and cinematic approach that embraces different influences and fields (electronics, sound art, post-rock, post-pop, improvised music …). He has worked closely with various international poets, choreographers,\u00a0 visual multimedia artists and other adventurous audio creators. Since 2005, he has also collaborated with holistic performer \/ masseuse Isa Belle (FR) for a series of installations and \u201csound\u201d performances shown in numerous festivals, cultural centres and international events. He has also produced and participated in several records on various independent labels (Sub Rosa, Optical Sound, Tiramizu, Transonic…).<\/p>\n

Kintai Arts Residency<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main Kintai Arts\u2019 mission is to actualize, develop and explore the unique tangible and intangible cultural and natural heritage of the Pomeranian region and to foster creativity, reflection and exchange of ideas in the spheres of contemporary art and contemporary music.<\/p>\n

As an international art residency, Kintai Arts aims to develop interdisciplinary artistic practice and the exchange of knowledge and ideas in the fields of art and science, nature and ecology, historical and cultural in situ heritage as well as social activism reflecting on relevant political and sociocultural issues.<\/p>\n
